Window Shopping – H&M makeovers
posted 14/10/2010“The LFW Daily team pitched up at H&M’s flagship Regent Street store and created a fun soiree for shoppers on September 23. Shanigwa Jarvis snapped shoppers in the window, creating quite a stylish stir among passersby, while the lovely Hannah Dolan for Karen Alder gave makeovers and the LFW Daily team offered style tips. A great fun night had by all!”
Lenka
posted 4/10/2010Getting Lenka ready for the Live Lounge where she performed her new single “The Show” and a lovely cover of Friendly Fires “Jump in the pool”.
Lenka has a natural peaches and cream complexion and so was a great base for a Fifties makeup look. I started by applying MAC face and body, eyes were kept clean with a slick of liquid liner.
To reflect the soft femininity of Lenka we applied a classic red lip. Eyebrows were narrowed and groomed. Blush and eyeshadow were natural looking. When she’s in the UK she loves to shop and can’t leave until she has had a curry. She also talked about proms, tattoos and Johny Deep!
Cate Blanchet was her teacher at drama school and got Lenka her first role in theatre. Lenka also starred in Home and Away as Angle’s sister, who had purple hair – remember her?
SIRENS
posted 1/10/2010Back in July… The Kmanagement team were called in to create hair and make up for the Sirens for their single stilletoes. We did amazing press shoots with the photographer Kevin Westenburg and the video was shot with the incredible director Rage.
At the time, I was creating my own lipstick, which will be released in December!!! This was one of my first mixes… so it’s lippy with no name!!! However MAC do a similar one called “Morange”. I used Chanel Vitalumiere as a base for the girls, this is great for longlasting coverage, yet giving that lovely dewey finish, St Tropez brilliant illuminator really set off the girls cheekbones… loads of lashes using Ardells knot free individual lashes with several coats of exceptional De Chanel Intense Volume&Sensational Curl Mascara. We had such fun with the hair too. My secret weapon that day was Crimpers and Kerastase Volumising Spray….Karen Alder

Katy B – Louder
posted 1/10/2010Met the lovely Katy B at her house to start the 1 of 3 looks for the video for her song “Louder” (singing it all the way home!!!)
We started off with fresh colourful liner look changing from pink to purple to follow the mood of the clothes. Then the last look was the most amazing pesch shadow and Nars funny face lips (my fave lipstick) to compliment the velvet Jezebel hoody which we all fell in love with!!! What a fun day gallivanting around the east lanes of camberwell with a great team and amazing artist… Can’t wait to do it all over again different song and new location!!! Hannah Dolan xxx
